Landing pages for advertising: what to prepare before launch
Your offer, supporting evidence, enquiry form and mobile checks. A practical guide to preparing a landing page for an advertising campaign.
Advertising creatives are ready, the budget is agreed, and the link leads to the main page with a dozen different services. The visitor must find what he saw in the advertisement. Some people will just close the tab.
Landing helps to collect one offer on one page: what you sell, who it is suitable for and how to apply. You should start with these answers, and only then with the design.
1. One advertisement - one clear offer
If the ad offers cleaning after the repair, the first screen should talk about it. The title "Complete solutions for your comfort" does not explain anything.
More simply: "Cleaning of apartments after renovation in Lviv." Below you can specify what is included in the service, how the price is calculated and when the team can arrive. Clarifications should correspond to real business conditions.
Before developing, write down three sentences:
- What exactly are we selling with this campaign?
- To whom and in which city or region?
- What action do we expect: a call, a recording, an application for settlement?
If there are several responses, you may need separate pages for different campaigns.
2. Show what the customer is paying for
Instead of a long description of the company, give information for the decision: the composition of the service, the procedure, conditions and examples of the result.
For cleaning, it can be a list of works and photos of real objects. For the beauty studio - the work of the master, the duration of the procedure and the recording method. For site development - live cases, composition of work and launch stages.
If the price depends on the volume, explain why. For example, from the area of the room or the number of website pages. Do not promise an exact calculation with one button, if the application has yet to be evaluated by a manager.
3. Add verifiable evidence
Real photos, job references, and testimonials courtesy of clients help you understand your experience. A few specific examples are often more useful than a big block of general words about quality.
Do not replace the portfolio with generated results. If you show the concept, sign it. If there are no confirmed sales figures, tell us what problem you solved and what you did.
Our cases can be opened and viewed before discussing your own site.
4. Think about where the application goes
The form on the page is just the beginning. It is necessary to determine who receives the appeal, where it is seen and how to respond to the client.
A name, contact and a brief description of the task may be enough for a simple calculation. Don't ask for an address, budget, and ten additional answers if you can start a conversation without them.
An example of a message for a manager:
New application: Olena. The apartment needs to be cleaned after the renovation. Area - 65 m². Contact - the number left by the client. Page - cleaning after repair.
Messages can be sent to Telegram or CRM. The method depends on how the team works. If applications are already lost between chats, it is worth discussing automation.
After submission, the visitor should see a confirmation and a clear next step. Specify only the deadline for the response that the team can actually fulfill.
5. Check the page on your phone
Open the landing page on your own phone and follow the customer's journey from the first screen to the application.
- Is the offer clear without further searching?
- Is the text readable and is it convenient to press the buttons?
- Is the phone number and messenger link working?
- Is it possible to fill out the form without zooming in?
- Does the test application reach the right person?
- Do you see a successful submission message?
Also check for incorrect input and repeated button presses. The page should clearly explain errors, and the manager should get a workable contact.
What to agree with the advertising agency
Before launching, give the agency the address of the finished page and agree on what action you will consider as the target. Clicking a button and successfully submitting an application are different events.
Also discuss how you will differentiate leads from different campaigns, who will check measurement settings, and who is responsible for processing leads. Agree on the necessary notifications about data processing and the use of analytics services.
The site itself does not guarantee sales. The result is affected by the offer, advertising, demand and work with received applications. The task of the landing page is to make the way to the appeal clear and accessible.
What to send to the developer to get started
A short brief is enough: service, audience, geography, an example of advertising, real photos or cases and the contact of the person who will accept the applications. If something is missing, it can be clarified during the conversation.
